10 Free Browser Games to Try (no ads!)
At times when I want a complete distraction to things that keep my mind busy (work, content planning, and home errands), I usually crave to play games. People I know personally are aware that I love playing games using consoles and mobile games. But little did they know that I love exploring browser games too! Today, I wanna share some of the browser games that I love playing during my free time and as a distraction to my usual everyday routine.
I discovered Solitaire.org and have been binge-trying their games. As you can see on their site name, they have looooots of free browser games which are related to a popular card game which is Solitaire. But aside from the varieties of card games available, they also have mind games, and other online free games available. Let me share with you some of the favorites that I usually play:
Classic Solitaire
The classic Solitaire game is available to play for free. I remember that my father thought me about the game's mechanics when I'm still a kid and bought me a deck of cards to play. In times when the Internet connection and gadgets are not as necessary as today, Solitaire has been the game that I love playing to kill some time.
In case you are not yet familiar with how this game works, you can browse the site's page for detailed instructions (and even the history!) on how Classic Solitaire works. I can proudly say that I'm a pro at playing this game already (*laughs*) but at times, I can't always push my luck to win.
Aside from Classic Solitaire, there are other card games that I love to play as well.
Ace of Hearts
Build a single ascending foundation from Ace to King starting with the Ace of Hearts and working upward 4 times until all cards are in the foundation.
I usually stack the same type of cards from King down to the Ace. The Ace of Hearts will be the 1st card that is needed and once you manage to compile all cards in order (and also manage to complete the Hearts card), you can easily win the game. I'm in love with the site's Ace of Hearts game because of the calming background music. You can try and play it here.
Cup of Tea Solitaire
Basically, Cup of Tea Solitaire is somewhat like the classic solitaire but instead of drawing 3 cards, you can only draw one card at a time. For this game, you can see the hint on the screen when there will be a possible move for you, or else, the game will automatically end if there's no possible move left. You can also move any face-up card if there's a free space on the row.
I find this game really challenging. I can only win one round and it's hard for me to win the next so I just keep on trying. You can try it here and let me know if you manage to finish it!
Crazy Eights
Shedding game where players lay cards from their hand on the waste pile by matching rank or suit.
This is a 4-player card game in which everyone will play 4 rounds and the one with the highest point wins. It is like playing the popular UNO cards actually. The aim is to finish all your cards first to win a round. You can drop a card with the same rank or even change the suit as long as the numerical value is similar to what's in the middle.
I don't know if I'm just not good at it but it's so hard to defeat the 3 AI's in this game (*laughs*). I tried playing but I didn't even win a set game... Want to try your luck? Play it here.
Let's move on to non-card-related games! As mentioned above, Solitaire.Org also offers mind games that will definitely challenge your mind. Here are some of my favorite games:
Treasure of Atlantis
Treasure of Atlantis is one of the games under the site's Match 3 Games. By match means that you need to match the same color of gems. For Treasure of Atlantis, you need to collect parts of the picture or the map (upper left) which are scattered on the game screen, by matching 3 or more same color gems and have the broken parts reach the bottom.
It has 25 levels and of course, each level will become harder as you play. What's more challenging is you'll have to start all over to the 1st level once you lose a level.
Candy House
Candy House is another Match 3 Game that you can try to play. Unlike Treasure of Atlantis, this one is more casual. You just have to match 3 or more of the same color, horizontally or vertically. Each round has a time limit and once you reach the goal per round, you can move on to the next.
As you play, there will be different pieces that you can unlock to help you clear the round easily. Try it here and let me know to what level did you able to reach.
Cookie Monster
Cookie Monster, under Solitaire.Org's Free Online Games, is a Pac-Man-inspired game that lets you eat the ghost. Yes. you heard it right! You can eat the ghosts by eating the power pellets and by then, they will become cookies that you can eat. Your score will be doubled per ghost you eat. You need to use the arrow keys and be fast! I suck at this game so bad as the ghosts usually cornered me *laughs*
Moving on, let's keep the challenge up by trying the free Hidden Object games!
China Temple
China Temple consists of different rounds that are either finding objects and numbers or spotting the difference. I honestly had a hard time with the find the numbers around because the numbers are quite hard to find. They are camouflaged well to where they are hidden! But the round with the find the objects, I liked it a lot. And that is what made me explore the site and look for a specific game to enjoy looking for more objects. And they have it!
Hidden Kitchen
Hidden Kitchen is a 10-level kitchen-themed find-the-object game. Each round is timed and as you wrongly click an object, 5 seconds will be removed from the time remaining, so be careful! I am proud to finish this game. I guess my eyesight is still good? (*laughs*)
Some of the objects are too small so you can to double-tap the game screen to zoom in and out. Be careful which are to click! Try it here.
Letter Scramble
The interface and concept are like the popular board game, Scramble. The difference is that the game will give out random letters for you to use and form as many words are you can. Use your keyboard for faster typing of words. This game is a mind-challenging game definitely! You can try it here and challenge yourself to how many words you can make.
What I love about Solitaire.Org is that each game page has detailed instructions on how you can play the game. And as this post's title indicated, there are no annoying ads so you can play the game for free with ease and browser-friendly.
I'm still exploring the other games available on the site. I also like to play Tetris. I will be happy if they will add a game with the same concept and other puzzle games too. Also, measuring how fast you can type (I've been seeing a lot of people on TikTok trying those) would also be an interesting feature that I hope they could add as well.
If you are looking for an ad-free and free online browser game to try, I would love to recommend Solitaire.Org. I love looking for browser games and this site has a comfortable feel in it and it keeps me coming back every day.
Do you have any favorite browser games? Let me know what games you like to play! Thanks for reading and stay safe always!
